As parents, we are granted a front-row seat to these moments. One day, your child is waddling, and the next, they are walking with confidence. One day, they speak in made-up words and playful phrases. Then suddenly, full sentences appear, clear and assured.

You smile and wonder– When did you learn to do that? How did that happen so fast?

That is the quiet bloom.

At The Quiet Bloom Press, we create whimsical stories with soul. Where readers will learn that a concept becomes a skill, where understanding turns into practice, and where repetition gently settles into second nature. These are the moments when quiet growth takes root.

We are a collaborative author/illustrator duo combining our knowledge and passion to create literary magic.

Our mission is to create stories that act as companions, guiding each reader through the stepping stones of growth and development.

Author

Micaela Burnham

Micaela Burnham is a children’s book author and the founder of The Quiet Bloom Press. She holds a degree in child development and has over a decade of experience working with children in both classroom and caregiving settings.

Her work focuses on early childhood, emotional development, and imaginative storytelling, shaped by both her professional background and her experience as a mother of two. She is particularly interested in creating stories that support connection, curiosity, and a child’s developing inner world.

Micaela is also the host of the podcast Drafting Motherhood, where she explores the realities of modern motherhood, identity, and creativity.

Illustrator

Cassie Oglesby

Cassie Oglesby is a stay-at-home Mom of two with a passion for art and creativity. Through motherhood, grief, and growth, she has found expression through her art. Her illustrative goal is to instill the same comfort and positivity she finds within her own creative works.

Her art has been displayed in local businesses, and she has sold several paintings around Middle Tennessee. While Cassie specializes in gouache painting and graphite sketching, she is also skilled in other media including sculpting and digital illustration.

Cassie believes that creativity is an innate trait that all children can tap into, with the proper inspiration. She believes art is an integral part of the human experience; an anchor that provides stability in the ebbs and flows of life.
